My hydrangea grows leaves and has flowers. The leaves start to come out then they turn brown before they are full size and fall off. Anyone know what is causing it?

I would first guess at insufficient sunlight. But if they flower, you must. After that, I would consider soil nutrients and soil ph. What color are your flowers?

They are green flowers. I had them outside in the sun and I thought the leaves were getting sunburn. I put them in the shade and they continued to turn brown. I brought it inside in indirect light. Still brown. But the flowers are still there and unaffected.

Welcome!

Is there any way you can post a picture of the problem and tell us roughly where you are located? Do you know the name of the hydrangea? If you have flowers now I assume you're somewhere where it's warm, we're still in snowy winter where I am. Sad

How long have you had the hydrangea? Is it still in a pot? Watering could be an issue, especially if it is potted.
