I can't believe the bloom season has started for 2017. Several of my bulbs are blooming weeks ahead of schedule, thanks to the intermittently warm temps we've been having.

I recently learned that our temps have been 20 degrees above normal so far this winter.

Hyacinth Fondant was the 1st to bloom, followed by N. Ice King, and N.Cum Laude 2 weeks ago, and now Tete-a-Tete. The crocus started blooming last week.

Very nice Annette!

I did notice (just barely) outside in the border, some daffodils, iris reticulata, and tulips breaking through the earth, seeking the sun.

Things are thinking spring here too. I noticed Freezias, One Daff., and several Dutch Iris in bud this morning. I guess you're not far enough east to get that latest cold front. It's been a strange year for weather.

Here are a few more blooms from this afternoon. We've been gone this past week, and I can't believe how much the hyacinths grew.

I'm loving the mix of H. Fondant, Pink Elephant, and Pink Pearl.

Is N. cassata a species? I love your flowers. Hard for me to believe somewhere in the US that garden is blooming its head off while I watch the snow fall. But really nice to see. I am getting excited about giving spring bulbs another try. And am hoping what I dug up and redistributed last fall does something this spring. I scattered bone meal on all the plantings and even mixed some into the soil before planting to try to give them a good start.

Annette, lovely show under way in your garden! Hurray! Interesting how many things are blooming at the same time. Typically my crocuses are finished before many daffodils start, and tulips start after that.

Thank you all for your kind comments I tip my hat to you. !

Mary, I don't know if N. Cassata is a specie narcissus. I'll check and let you know. Also, for the bulbs that give you a hard time, try them in pots. Sending you tree mail.

Neal, you're right, the bulbs are blooming out of order here, thanks to our crazy weather. Further, we have no freezing weather predicted in the next 2 weeks, so I expect the garden will be exploding with blooms. The front garden smells divine from all the blooming hyacinths Lovey dubby !

It's kinda fun seeing things blooming together than normally don't. One year in May I had the most unusual combination bloom together, bearded iris, lily, tulip, dahlia, and poppy! Never seen those all bloom at the same time before or since.

Spring is the best time of year! Thanks for sharing images of your lovely blooms, Annette.

Beautiful, but a bit stressful to have them all blooming at once, or so I imagine. How to absorb all that beauty in a short window of time!

that is amazing Neal. Tulips and lilies and dahlias. Mine bloom at least a month and a half apart. My poppies seem rather early but still way after tulips and crocus and such. It must have been magnificent.

The garden sure is full of surprises! Never quite knowing what will bloom together (and being a bit OCD about color harmony) is why when I'm choosing plants for a bed, I keep the color scheme the same regardless of the bloom time. So I get lots of surprises, but at least they're harmonious Smiling

The long range forecast isn't calling for any more extreme cold here. Not that I believe that will be the case, but it is at least some comfort.
