What's the best way to do a rose cutting? I'M acasually trying to grow one from a poting soil /mason jar with a chemically treaded potato. Any advice.

Stick pieces in the ground, or bend a branch to the ground and lay a rock/brick over it to hold it firmly against the soil. Contact with the soil should cause roots to form in a few months. (called ground layering)
