Rabbits cant climb your elavated bed. Do you have the other varmits around ? I live in town, so i dont have the varmits your talking about.
I do have one resident squrill, he runs along top of fence, to my camphor tree. Shrug! for what ? I dont know !πŸ˜•! I've never seen him in garden. Maybe because he's a tree squrill, they mainly eat nuts.
And i've allways had a dog or cat.
You may have to do as Elaine suggested, or get an outside dog, that will chase the deer, rabbits, and squrills away.
Don't be intimidated by seeds. Plant them, best inside, under grow lites, 8 wks before safe frost date, or direct seed to bed at proper time, and water them every eveing. They will be fine.
Direct seeded seeds will produce about one to two weeks behind store bought pony-packs.
Pony-packs have gottin so darn expensive, its crazed. Grumbling
Keep any leftover seeds in frig. They will last for years. Thumbs up
Let me know what ya do.
I gotta go bake my oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies. Yum!!!😜
Talk at you latter πŸ˜‡

I was so late in starting most of my seedlings that for this year I decided to buy plants ready to be transplanted and seeds that could be planted directly in the garden.

Since these photos were shot I've added marigolds to help with pest control.

Hay there girl 😁 ! Looks really GREAT. Hurray! soil looks great also. Keep seeds watered good. Sprinkle in evening. If weather is hot, you may need to sprinkle in morning also.
Gee !πŸ˜•! You been gone so long,
I didn't remember you untill i saw your raised bed. 😁 I thought you were like the little birdy. Gone and flew the coup on me !😭! Hay ! Do me a flavor, if you will. Put your name in your profile, it makes relateing nicer. You don't have to use your real name. Make one up. Like ! Birdy or get creative.
Real good hearing from ya. Thumbs up
Keep in touch !!
Hears my garden from a couple weeks ago.

It's the picture by your name, Philip.

Btw, watering in the evening isn't so good for most places that have humidity. The leaves of the plants stay wet all night, an invitation to fungus. Watering deeply in the morning is a much better habit to get into.

The pic was from my iPhone and turned sideways.

Not sure why but mine does not show avatars on my phone. I even checked my settings and it says to show the avatars, but it is ok with me that my phone does not show them. I usually work off my desktop or laptop and only use my phone for quick reads, or updates. Not that I would EVER spend my time at work reading this site Oh heavens no!!! (I think I just heard thunder in the background)

@philipwonel Thank you. Sorry it's taken me this long, but I've had to take a quick "radon" course & wasn't sure I was going to plant anything, but did so. It seems I may want to move because the owner isn't interested in doing anything about it, the basement foundatin or floor. I haven't flown da coop. was wondering why you refered me as "girlfriend" but because we had strange strange names within our work circle I didn't think much of it.

Attached are photos of what the garden looks like now. Today I "harvasted" some Romaine lettuce leafs, spring onion, a pepper & a radish. Loved, absolutely loved, the taste! Eagerly waiting for the tomatoes, eggplant, string beans, squash & cucumbers.

@philipwonel. No worries, had I been offended I wouldn't have continued our conversations. It was nice of that member to intervene.

As for Papasmrf: he represents my nickname where I worked. Again, we used to call each other all sorts of unusual names so much so that "girlfriend" wasn't upseting.
