Hi,

Can you please help me to identify this plant and possibly give some tips to care it. I really like it but I'm not what I'm doing wrong why its losing its leaves.

Regards,

J

I'm not sure but it reminds me of a Euphorbia of some type. Hopefully someone who grows succulents will be along soon to offer an exact ID. We have lots of Euphorbia listed in our database with photos for comparison: https://garden.org/plants/sear...

That looks like a pedilanthus tithymaloides or a redbird flower and commonly called Devil's Backbone. It is a succulent that requires full sun and little water or well drained soil. Will grow good from zone 9 thru 11. It will rarely flower in indoor culture. If soil becomes too dry it will drop its leaves. Handle with caution as the milky sap is poisonous.

Pedilanthus ithymaloides is a synonym for Euphorbia tithymaloides. I have the Devil's Backbone (Euphorbia tithymaloides) which is probably why it reminded me of Euphorbia! Green Grin!
