This shrub with its distinctive gorgeous and very fragrant creamy yellow flowers, shaped a bit

like Jasmine, I found growing in dense forest vegetation. As it was close to nightfall it could

be that it releases its scent only at night, the long-tubed flowers suggest that long-tongued

moths or bats could be the pollinators.
Anyone has an idea? Smiling

It reminds me of Gardenia nitida (Shooting Star), but I don't remember the petals being twisty..

Thanks Sherry for your thoughts, I could add more info in that the flowers were quite big, in length about 15 cm and the feel velvety waxy..

Sure is pretty whatever it is; it reminds me a little of Posoqueria.

The flowers do have resemblance to Posoqueria, Lin..

Tofitropic got it right for the genus!

I found a perfect match in Tocoyena bullata!

I'll still check in the Flora do Brasil when it gets back on line..

Thanks a lot! Thumbs up

Thank you so much for the acorn Myriam, and Ooo, how I envy you being there in Brazil.
Had I have a chance to get the seeds of those many plants you posted... I just could wish.. to ever grow them...

Oooh and how I envy your climate in Indonesia Tofitropic. Hilarious!
I am no longer in Brazil but back in cold and damp Belgium.. Sad
That's why I didn't collect seeds of this beauty, it wouldn't be happy over here.
A pity I didn't know at the time you would have been interested, not sure though it had mature seeds at that time, I didn't think of looking for them.

I found the plant in the Flora do Brasil, it is native to that area I found it..
