This is not a plant that you can grow as a hardy perennial here in the UK (although it does come back after quite a hard freeze) but Cantua buxifolia is well worth the effort of growing. The big problem here is that the flower buds form on the seasons growth in the autumn for winter or spring blooming so it needs to be kept frost free.
Despite the extra effort required I grew it for a few seasons because the blooms really do make it worth that effort.............


I gave it away in the summer of 2015 as I needed the greenhouse space for other things.
