My Carnivore Plants, Nepenthes ventricosa 'Rosea' have now celebrated their first birthday. They have been semi-dormant through the winter but are now beginning to put on growth. They are really getting large and the pitchers continue to impress, both in size and in coloration. These pitchers no longer have to settle for tiny insects. They are now large enough to devour insects that are roach-size. Hurray. The first two photos show my wife holding one such pitcher in the palm of her hand.

Those are looking great, Ken! I might have to try one. I've never had a carnivorous plant.

You need two, Karen, a male and a female. They'll pout otherwise.

Just joking...........I think. Whistling

I saw some of those at my local nursery, I wondered what they were. Roach eating plants...cool...LOL
They were all gone the next week, so someone knew what they were.

Now you know, Sherri. They are just really neat plants. I have never seen any for sale in our big box stores.

I love our Local nursery, Lukas, they have some very unusual and unique plants, but the price can reflect how unusual they are. I am so bad about remembering my iPhone and just get so mad when I'm out and see something and can't Google it. By the time I get home and look up a plant I miss out on some pretty cool stuff. I only think they had two of them hanging in the greenhouse. I love that greenhouse, go visit once a week. Lovey dubby
