I am wondering how to stop my seedlings from becoming long and lanky. I have a small inside greenhouse for my kitchen (about 4' tall, 3' across and 2' deep) and when planting seeds in peet pots, they end up getting really tall with leaves right at the very top. This is very hard to plant with. By no means am I an experienced gardener or even good at it, but it always happens. I have two grow lights that I put inside the greenhouse, they are like flood lights with clamps. and I keep the greenhouse zipped to keep moisture in.

Please help!

How far from the seedlings is the light source? You may need to lower the light to be closer to the seedlings. This will not help the ones that are already long/lanky but it will help with the next batch of seedlings. Thumbs up

Lites need to be 1 to 1 1/2 inches above seedlings,
and 65000 K=kelvins.

Your flood bulbs probably put out to much heat to be that close. Plus, if they don't, there not going to cover much area. Maybe a 10 inch circle, at most.
I'll tell you what i did ! Go to your local hydroponics store. Pick there brains. They know there stuff ! Not just marijuana. Then you'll know what you need.... Then, you can buy from them, or, go on-line.
Sounds like a field trip to me.😁!!!

Welcome to NGA, @Desiretogarden .

Would it be possible for you to post a photo of your mini greenhouse with your grow lights and plants? Smiling

I agree with Philip on this. Our local hydroponic store is a wealth of information; one does not need to be growing marijuana to benefit from their knowledge. Rolling on the floor laughing
