I tried to seed Lithops, but a strange "creature" grew instead.
Please refer to the attached picture. It has a perfect ball shape. The height is around 2 cm and the width is also around 2 cm.
What could that be?

I've never seen one like this, but my guess is it's a fungus of some type. If you don't get an answer here we can transfer this to the Fungus Forum.

Those look like they could be Lithops seedlings to me, but I've only seen older plants in person:

I was wondering if its some kind of Bird's Nest Fungus. Its not a baby Lithop.

This "creature" grew up to its present size within few hours, and is still alife, though three weeks have passed since.
