Can you tell me if sweet potatoes grow well in central Minnesota climates? If so, where can I get starters???

I would have no first hand knowledge of Minnesota conditions, but some folks have grown 90 day sweet potatoes as far north as Canada. I don imagine it is easy tho. The growing not only has be frost free, but you will need 80-90 degree temps. The variety most often cited is Georgia Jet. Sand hill Preservation http://www.sandhillpreservatio... is a good source for northern growers.

Found this in the Star Tribune :
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
