We got this as a cutting and i think it is a climbing plant.
The leaves taste like licorice, really nice taste.
I hope some one can help us identify this latest addition to our Thai garden, thanks in advance.

I think anise tastes like licorice. The leaves don't look right though.

I have no idea about it but most plants around here are being used for herbs.
I am also not sure if it is a climber or not.

Your plant looks like it may become a tree.

Maybe a type of star anise:

Star Anise (Illicium verum)
or
Star Anise Tree (Illicium anisatum)
or
Yellow Anise (Illicium parviflorum)

I just got an answer from a lovely thai lady, she told me it is Murraya Siamensis craib.
Thai name Prong Fah.
It is a herb used for many applications.
Does this sound like it could be it?
