I was trying to look up one of my new plants, Mammillaria canelensis. I found listings for Mamillaria and for Mammillaria. Are they different, or should they all be in the same category, probably Mammillaria?

It should be Mammillaria across the board... no Mammillaria has a common or given name that spells Mamillaria...

Thanks, Evan. I am having troubles adding my new cactus. I bought it as Mammilaria canelensis, but according to the Cat of Life that is a synonym for Mammilaria stanleyi. I can't seem to get it added.

We already have an entry for Mammilaria canelensis which is why you aren't able to add it. I'll need to review Mammillaria and will merge M. canelensis with M. standleyi. Thanks for pointing out the synonym.

I searched over and over for Mammilaria canelensis in our database, and got no results. Now it works. What was up with that?

Spelling, I did the same! Mammillaria canelensis vs. Mammilaria canelensis Two L's in Mammillaria.
