Thank you Stephanie (Rebloomnut) for posting a picture of one of the new 2012 Shooter introductions over in the DITD Cubit, causing me to empty my cache and check out the Marietta website -- and under Introductions they have posted their new 2012 introductions! http://www.mariettagardens.com... I really like PEACOCK TANGO -- too bad it's a Dip... Betty |

Your Welcome Betty. I have several of Shooters Dips that I will be selling this spring since I am doing Tets now and need the room for them. I have not been disappointed in them as have grown well and are good bloomers. I do not however have many of their Tets so can't say much there. |

Well, believe it or not, I'm already getting ready to place my order with Marietta Gardens. I discovered that they've posted their General Listing through their home page, and I spent a good amount of time yesterday comparing that listing with their pictured daylilies on the website; then I emailed them to see whether some of the pictured daylilies I was interested in were in fact available even though they're not in the General Listing, and I just heard back from Faye Shooter. She went out and checked the actual plants in the garden because she said most of them are limited in quantity, and only one turned out to not be available. Yea! ![]() So now all I have to do is pick which ones I really really want! The reason I checked so thoroughly was because someone here (was it you, Steph?) mentioned that they thought Marietta also had some of the small ones, and I came up with quite a few that I'd love to have. I certainly can't order all of them (drat!), but I can get a few. And another one I really want is SHARK ATTACK after seeing Rita's pictures here in addition to their photo on the website. It's a semi-evergreen so hopefully it will do OK here. And they also show that one of my favorites (also in Rita's pictures), CLOWN PARADE, is a SEV so I'm going to get that one too -- I just love it! Good thing we have a long weekend before I can actually mail my order because right now I'm in one of those compulsive "I'll just get everything I want!" moods... Danger Danger!!! Betty |

Betty, both SHARK ATTACK and CLOWN PARADE are stunners so I am sure you really would love them. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, Rita! I'm definitely going to get those two, and then the rest will be smalls. Betty |

Betty, when I visited Shooter's years ago, John sent Leprechaun's Lace and Pennys Worth home with me. Since then I have cut back from nearly 800 cultivars at one time to 100. Yet, both of those old plants are still here. I can't seem to get clumps established of either, because visitors always want them. If John still has either of them, I would recommend them. Both rebloom well here - and few plants do. |

Thanks much Juli -- but unfortunately I just checked the website and neither one is there now. Betty |

Doesn't hurt to write them and ask. If they don't have any remaining stock at all, they may direct you to a colleague who does. Worst that can happen is they say no, right? ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s okay to not know all the answers. |

I would ask as sometimes they don't hold enough for listing in sales but use a good size clump for Hybridizing and can let a few fans go when it is divided.y have it I know they would do whatever they could for you. |

Too late now, since I just confirmed my order with Faye. I had to drop a couple of those I really wanted in order to stay within my budget, so I won't be adding any others for now. But thanks for the information and I'll have to check those daylilies out in the future. Betty |

Oh Betty, I love Clown Parade! It's on my want list too lol. Last year I got their Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Crackling Fire and Zig Zag Jazz. :) Thanks, Freda (Blossom) |

Is the DR. SUESS one from Marietta? It has a high bud count. PEACOCK TANGO was nice too. Bee Kind, make the world a better place. |
Betja Jan 4, 2012 10:12 AM CST |
I don't see DR. SUESS in their listing, but I agree that PEACOCK TANGO looks fantastic. I'll have to wait a bit for that one, though. I don't know where I'm going to put everything I've ordered as it is. Between Floyd Cove and Marietta I'm added ten of the minis/smalls, but I just love them and they're getting harder to find since Floyd Cove is phasing them out. But I have little spots where I'm going to put those. Betty |
