Is there a natural way to fertilize our yard? We have about 8 acres that we mow. We have been having more and more weeds and this last year there appears to be more and more bare spots where nothing is growing.

I guess it depends on what you want your yard to be. Are you in sun or shade? North or south? Cool or warm season grass?

A healthier stand of grass is your best defense against weeds. A natural way to add fertility would be to spread compost, but it will take quite a lot to cover 8 acres.

Are grass clippings left on the lawn? How short is it being mowed?
