I just bought this in a pot at a nursery & I've been reading a lot of bad comments on how to grow this. I'd like to keep it potted & on the lanai. I was told it was a shade plant. Could you please give me all of the best tips so I don't kill it? How much sun, water, fertilizer & anything else? Thank you!!

Hi Stewy and welcome to NGA!

It would help to know where you are - your zone and what direction your lanai faces - such as how much sun it gets and when, morning afternoon etc. Do you know what species it is?

Mine gets morning sun from the east until around 11am and I keep it on the dry side of moist .. it doesn't like wet feet.
