Hello! A friend of mine has had this plant for years in his greenhouse. Didn't know what it was when he got it, and then someone told him it was an African Milk Tree, which it most definitely is not. In any event it is a super cool plant! I was thinking it could be some other form of Euphorbia, but I could very well be wrong. It has a white sap that makes your tongue go numb (Don't ask LOL) and apparently drops its leaves in the winter (Seattle metro area in a greenhouse). The picture of the bare plant is the Mother, and the smaller one is the cutting I got from him about six months ago! Thanks in advance for any and all help :)

I agree that it is a Euphorbia. But the leaves are throwing me off. Pencil cactus (Euphorbia tirucalli), when they have leaves, the leaves are really small.

I would have said Plumeria sp.
The branches look just like the pics when they are flowerless and leafless.

Look at this plant as well as Plumeria:
African Milk Bush (Euphorbia bicompacta var. rubra)

This supposedly a red version vs. a plain green version of the plain species, but I wonder if the difference people see is just from increased exposure turning the foliage reddish.

Does Plumeria have white sap? Anyone willing to go lick their plumeria? Smiling

Look at Euphorbia umbellata; also known as Synadenium grantii.
