I rather suck at 'searching' for anything and I know this has been discussed in the past but it just kind of dropped out of sight I think. I would prefer to have the most popular bloom photo be the thumbnail for 'My List'. Other folks want 'their' photo to be their 'My List' thumbnail photo for reasons that elude me. But, again for reasons that elude me, a change was made to accommodate that. Here's a visual example: open up Lily Of The Valley (Convallaria majalis) The most popular photo is absolutely gorgeous. I'd like that to be my thumbnail. Instead, I get my less-than-par photo I submitted just to be able to suck that into my personal list comment section to show my actual plant. I'd WAY rather have Bonitin's photo as my thumbnail, with my personal photo in the comment section. Good comparison I think. But alas. In a perfect world, we could choose what we want for the thumbnail - either the most popular photo no matter who submitted it, or 'your' most popular photo. Or to take it one step further, you could actually choose which photo you like for the thumbnail. That doesn't really appeal to me, but may to others. As always, I have zero clue how complicated or logical this might be, but it would sure make my world a bit happier.

" Or to take it one step further, you could actually choose which photo you like for the thumbnail."

I think that would be perfect! It isn't a big deal to me, but I would definitely utilize that option.

I do think that having our own photo be the thumbnail is second best, though; if you don't like the one that is showing, add a new one that you like better. Smiling

I'm just not that jazzed about my own photos. So many other people take such better pictures than me, I'd way rather have the most popular one be the thumbnail. And, really, how many bloom photos do we need in the database? I like to look at new additions to the database and wonder at the plethora of seemingly identical photos, sometimes 5-6 submitted by the same person on the same day, of essentially the same photo. But, to each their own.

I wonder about that too. Why doesn't the person pick the best one and just submit that one? Do they think that all 5 are the best one? Shrug!

I have also wondered about this. Some pics are so close that they look identical.

That's what I do. And if I see there are a gazillion bloom photos (for example), I just pass on adding more. Thus, under the existing system, my 'My List' thumbnail might often be of an emerging plant, or fading fall foliage, or other less-than-optimal photo. Kind of a bum deal for me.

If you have photos you are not pleased with and you want the most popular to be the one shown in your plant list, is it possible to delete your photo and then have the most popular one show?

This had been discussed already, sorry.
