Please see attached photos. I will have to get daytime pictures, but hoping someone can ID these for me.
These green "weeds" were covering the rock wall like a carpet (see picture with front walkway. The left side was so covered, I had no idea there were rocks underneath. Tree person told me that he gave me credit for trying to get rid of these, which tells me these are a persistent annoying plant/weed. He did not tell me the name of them. They do not seem to go away in cold weather and seem to thrive in warmer weather.

I agree

I agree pachysandra
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

I agree on pachysandra. You are lucky to have that large bricked area. It's beautiful! I am always looking for used bricks but they are hard to find, and new ones now cost a fortune.

Thank you all for the identification.

The photo you saw was prior to buying the house. It took a lot of work (and trash bags) to rip the pachysandra up. I mean this stuff was everywhere especially intertwined in the brick pavers. I had to rip up all the bricks and start with a clean slate. Thankfully, we were able to reuse all the bricks and even sold some of the excess since we didn't need them anymore.

There was so much of it on the rock wall side, it came up like carpet. I know some people may like pachysandra and it may have it uses, but using it here I thought was a bad idea.

Here's what it looks like now...

When I lived in Connecticut and back when Pachysandra was popular, landscape people would actually volunteer to trim/prune/clean up Pachysanda for folks for free. They wanted all the cuttings so they could turn around and sell it to future customers. Ah, the good old days. Thumbs up
