I responded to a Craigslist post offering a large plant for $5. I dug it up and took to a nursery to identify what kind of plant it was. I have Lillies but the kind with the small brown bulbs. These had large white ones. She said they were daylillies. She said they were exceptionally long. It had grew under a slab of concrete. She told me to fold them over and put rubber bands around them. When the flowers bloom do I take the rubber bands off or cut them back. Also they are dropping really bad.

whatever they are, you probably take the rubber bands off now and care for them like a live plant. Can you add some pictures?

Large white bulbs don't sound at all like daylilies to me. The idea of "folding over" a plant until it blooms seems odd, too.

Yes, would you please post a picture of your bulb so we can advise you better?

daffodils, maybe? Some people do the rubber band after daffodils bloom, waiting for leaves to mature and dry up.

I agree about them not being daylilies. And I agree about a picture being helpful.
