I am attempting my first straw bale garden this year. I am currently conditioning my bales. I'm using alfalfa straw bales. My question is about what fertilizer to use. I've read nitrogen is best but aren't grass clippings high nitrogen? My bales appear to have a lot of alfalfa grass clippings in them. What fertilizer should use?

Alfalfa is good nitrogen.
Just add a little top soil on top, and plant away. Thumbs up
