Does anyone make a system that works. I purchased 6 hangers and only 2 would hold at an intermediate point.

I have not used them. I had read the reviews and decided they were probably not gonna work very good.

I use easy reach pulley for some plants that I need to be hanging, so far it works. Or if my container is not too big and has a lip, I just use hang-a-pots, though not retractable, I can put the container at a level I can still easily reach.

Hi @glenfg
I do use the retractable plant hangers at work. See picture. I have very high drop ceilings, so we hung barnacle clips and the hanger on the clip. Big rule - don't let them fully retract. If they retract to the ceiling, flush to the plastic housing, I jerk on it over and over until it lets loose and the line can be retracted. Some glitch in the system I guess. Try that on the other hangers that don't seem to work. Do it over and over and see if you can get it to retract. I fasten a safety pin to the nylon line to keep it from retracting all the way up by accident. Well, anyway, I've had them too long now to return them. Good luck !
