Help! Does anyone know what could be wrong with my alocasia? Before it turned into a giant hole, the area got really thin and see through.

@Landscapersg Welcome to NGA

Not knowing its' location and whether it has recently been moved from inside to outside, I would venture to say it looks like sunburn. If it was over-wintered inside and then moved to a sunny location outside, the sudden change in light intensity can cause leaves to sunburn. The following link may give you better insight to the problem.

We brought it home from armstrong garden center about two weeks ago. We have kept it in the same spot, in the house with indirect sunlight in the afternoon. When watered it started to "weep" so I didn't water it for about a week, when it stopped weeping. We are in smother California so the weather doesn't get cold, and it has not been in direct sun.
