About 10 days ago planted 2 Arapaho blackberry bare roots in my garden. Yesterday I found something coming up from the ground, but it does not look green or leafy. It is dry at the tip. I searched several times to see if I could identify if it was a root or a cane. It is definitely coming from the root and not something else.

Is this a root? Suggestions on what to do would be fantastic!
