Plant ID forum: What is this tree?

This tree does not belong to me but I know only the few common types and I've always wondered what this is. I haven't seen a lot of these around.

The leaves are almost white on the underside (not only new ones, they stay like that) and aren't smooth but kinda fuzzy. The trunk is light colored but not as white as a birch.

Looks like Populus alba. ....common name silver poplar,or silverleaf poplar, or white poplar.
