An early blossom. Jacqueline Du Pre was the first rose to bloom this spring.

Evidently one can catch more flies with blossoms than with buds.
And, yes, one of our hopes is for better photo ops as the season gets underway.

What fills you with anticipation and hope as you prepare for rose season?

Hilarious! I agree

That is a lot of buds!
I am looking forward to my Jacqueline du Pre and the other roses in the same bed looking a lot better than last year, when they were hit by both a dry spring and a vole infestation!! Crossing Fingers!
But I will not have buds, much less blooms for at least another month. Talk about anticipation! Big Grin

Sorry to hear about the vicious voles Lilli.

I'm in the midst of battling furry creatures: worried about possibly having lost a mature Ilse Krohn Superieur to them this spring.

One flew in just as I finished taking this photo, but it was too shy to pose for the camera.
