Hi!
We have 2 bushes in our front yard that were likely planted by the contractor when our house was built in 1996.
One of them is getting too big and needs to be moved (too close to one tree) and I want to know what it is to make sure it is worth me keeping (trying to plant for pollinators as much as I can).

Your help in identifying it is greatly appreciated!!

Nathalie

Hi Nathalie, Welcome!

I'm not sure what shrub that is but it is absolutely beautiful! Are the blooms fragrant? My first thought was perhaps a variety of Mock Oranges (Philadelphus) but I'm not really sure. We have quite a few in our database with photos for comparison: https://garden.org/plants/sear...

Hopefully others will be along soon with suggestions and a more exact ID.

Philadelphus have opposite leaves.
This shrub has alternate leaves.

I believe it is Spiraea cantoniensis lanceata.

The leaves are different for Philadelphus.
This looks so familiar but my brain can't come up with a name right now.
