If you had to guess, which tree would you say this image represents?

It's a wooden bookmark that I am giving as part of a "spring gift", and I would very much like to write a few words about the tree, so if you could make a guess as to what type of tree is most closely resembles, that'd be great!

(You have to click the picture to get a good look at the leaves)

The picture does not enlarge much, and I am not a great identifier. It is always possible that it is imaginary. In any event, it is a pretty bookmark!

Thanks, porkpal. I hope the girl who's to get it thinks it's pretty as well. I am giving her four bookmarks, one for each season: this ____ tree for spring, a cheery for summer, a cherry with falling leaves for fall, and a pine for winter.

Very nice artwork, love it. For me, in my neck of the woods, it looks like alder.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
