Hi Annie, seems like you are back on a roll in your gardens. I've had close to two very productive weeks myself and then it has been all stop because of many consecutive days of cold and rainy weather. There was a small break with some sunshine yesterday, but I decided to go on the local historic home and garden tour instead of working in my own gardens. I love those tours, but it is back to rain all day today and likely tomorrow. I shouldn't be such a wimp and get out there anyway, but I just can't motivate. Rain is one thing if it is warm outside, but rain AND cold is not my thing at all. Maybe by Wednesday I'll be back on track.

Hi Terri, Good to hear from you! I found myself wondering and thinking about you and your garden the past few days. Yes, we've got cold rainy up here too, but I am going to brave it and get some mulching done. I hauled in many bags of this really nice shredded up pine needle/leaves/grass clippings last winter and it makes beautiful mulch...PLUS...for some reason the hens don't like it. They don't scratch it all over the place.

I feel like I'm doing doing doing but it's all just pulling weeds and tidying up things and nothing much to write about. A local woman is starting a native plants nursery business and she had a plant sale a couple weeks ago. I got some nice things at good prices...mostly for my bog garden. She has this really fascinating idea for her business...she's going to convert an old food truck into a sort of "mobile nursery" and sell her plants from it...going from place to place and setting up shop wherever there are festivals or farmer's markets, etc. Sort of bringing the garden center to the gardeners! I think this is an amazing idea and I'm so envious I did not think of it first! *LOL* Right now, she's just doing local sales...I think she's got two dates scheduled at our little community center in May.

Hold onto your hat...I may actually have a phone that take pictures by the end of the week and then i might be able to post some blurry pictures of my thumb and possibly a bit of garden too.

Have you seen the newest 2017 Gardener's World episodes? Also, I am hooked on Big Dreams Small Spaces. Loads of good ideas.

I found out that you can download this app that "spoofs" your location to servers. The BBC website has old episodes of Gardeners World (and other shows I expect) going back years and years...but you can't watch them if you don't live in the UK because they use some sort of restrictive filter. But once you get this "spoofing" software installed, the BBC server thinks you're logging in from the UK and you can watch everything! I am very Un-tech so I'm just sort of feeling my way around and trying to understand what I need to do. A friend said there's a free app with Firefox and I tried that, but I don't understand the next step...which is selecting/logging into a location or something that will make it look like your computer is in the uk. I couldn't seem to get that to work, then got discouraged and quit. But I'm going to try again when I find some time.

Best wishes, good gardening, Annie

Hey Larry, Sticking tongue out Now let's not get too excited. First I have to learn to make phone calls. Camera may be well beyond me. "You do what now? Press this? *Flash, Zap, Crackle* Why did it blow up? I hit the self-destruct button? I'll bee...."

The phone is a saga...my friend lost it, bought herself a new one, then found the phone. So she decided to gift it to me, but ordered a new sim card for it. They sent the wrong card. Now we're waiting again for a new one.

My wife had a smart phone, she recently got a smarter one, but still doesn't know how to use it. We needed to send a photo of a document the other day, my grandson found his copy before we could ever figure out how to send him the photo. I sill have my dumb flip phone, but it least it works for phone calls. My wife's friends are complaining that their calls go straight to voicemail now, guess I need to find out what the problem is. I have read the flip phones do a better job of being a phone than the smartphones, but the smart phones do take nice photos and they can give you directions if you can ever figure out how to use them. Of course, you do have to have a phone plan with data or they essentially become a dumb phone. I am trying to figure out how to use my wife's old phone as a trigger for my Nikon camera, but so far no luck. I am thinking the wi fi on the old phone no longer works being the phone plan is now for the new phone, but am not yet sure that is the problem.
