I planted this flower in my garden - it was a "clearance rescue" from Walmart. It's beautiful - I don't know what it is though! Any help?

Thank you!!

Jessie, it's a viola. They're related to pansies but have much smaller flowers. They'll spread and make a large, low plant. Some shade in the hot weather is necessary to keep them alive, though. They will also bloom better if you pick or cut off the spent flowers once in a while.

Yes I agree, there are many beautiful new ones every year.
However, the old favourites have stood the test of time.
Viola Rebecca is extremely distinctive and has been around for many years. It is a favourite of mine.

Sadly your image does not appear to match with the Viola Rebecca I am very familiar with .....
or the description.....both here in UK and USA

Quote Missouri Botanic Garden......"Features white and creamy yellow violets with flecks of deep violet around the petal edges. Considerable color variations exist on the same plant. Lines are absent from the petal bases"

Quote...." Rebecca has a base colour of cream, shaded lemon on the lowest petal with a rich yellow eye. Each petal is then shaded to pale lilac with the edges flecked mauve. "

Or..
Quote...."Flowers are white, flushed in lemon yellow with deep violet markings."
