I think this is an older variety, and I thought the color/pattern may be kind of distinct so would be able to id maybe

I do know that it is not Final Touch, because I have grown that one before and this isn't it. That is a great guess though, it does look similar.

I don't believe it is Karen Sue because it is more mauve/purple. It is also taller than KS reg height of 20 in.

It is growing in our club's park display garden. It was labeled wrong id. Have no idea! But I think it is an older variety because of where it was planted. You know the beds are divided up in some fashion, like award winners, local hybridizers, ect. I think someone has a master list but it may have not been kept up over the past years and it could have been sent as the wrong plant anyway, so there is no telling who it is. I just hoped it would be kind of memorable and someone would recognize it maybe. Still hoping!

Could it be Antique Rose??? Check, if you have some time on your hands, Willow Rock Garden. They have over 4,000 daylilies with a lot of pictures.

Great guess but it is not Antique Rose, I have grown that one also at one time and this is a smaller bloom, not quite as flat when it opens and doesn't have the ruffling the same way around the edges. Antique Rose has ruffles that are more lose formed.
I have not heard of Willow Rock Garden, but will check them out for sure, 4,000! wow I don't feel so bad now Rolling on the floor laughing

Jillz, you are so right, I got to excited over the pictures.
"I think this is an older variety, and I thought the color/pattern may be kind of distinct so would be able to id maybe."
It seems my mind just focused on the part about the color pattern, I neglected the rest of the sentence saying it was probably an older variety.
But, other than being too tall, the bloom being way to large, being a recent (2005) release,
and a few other unknowns...just goes to show trying to match daylilies by photos is mostly futile, still we seem to enjoy trying to do it.

Color is so difficult to pin down, but what about Tutankhamun (Elliott, 1978), 26", bloom 4.5 inch, dormant, lilac purple.

kathy, that looks like a possible match, I will look into that some more.

I believe it is an older variety, none of Meadows will be it.
