|Last year I bought a carload of plants on the cheap.
Some plants were great, some were spot fillers. I didn't think any of the Dianthus would come back from winter....especially since the heat/sun just previous really impacted them. They have come back with a vengeance and are quite beautiful. The issue is that while a goid many sources list them as good draws for pollinators and hummingbirds, I have yet to see these goals fulfilled wit Dianthus. Yesterday, I saw a single queen bumblebee try one for about 30 seconds before flying away.
Does anyone out there get regular attendance by hummingbirds & pollinators on Dianthus?
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.
