For tomatoes, is damping off variety-dependent?

WV (Zone 6b)
Om shanti om.
I have two varieties of tomato planted.
For one variety (Black Krim), everything is going fine.
For the other variety (Opalka), 4 out of 5 plants have damped off.
They're growing in identical circumstances.
Thoughts?
