How do you like those kinds of tubes for showing irises? Do you use the taller ones also? We have been offered some like that and likely will get them. An honest opinion would help.

Jane, I haven't used anything else, so I'm probably not the best judge... I guess the pros would be that they're inexpensive and pretty much unbreakable. I believe one of our handy members made them. They break down into several boxes and probably take up less storage space than vases.

We just got new glass vases for our single flower display, and someone walked off with one... So that would probably be another benefit of the PVC vases.

Thanks, Sherry, for that assessment. We always borrow our plexiglass tubes from the daylily society but they are hard to store and you have to travel 29 miles to get them out in the country. Some in our group think the PVC and wooden block are not pretty but one should focus on the beauty that is above it rather than the container! Free is nice too.

Beautiful seedlings....just to live near where you can see his glory is a treat.

Sherry, I'm just astonished at the work that has gone into creating your garden. I tip my hat to you. It's so inviting. Your tour weekend is the same date as the Santa Rosa Iris Society's annual show and sale. My daughter has agreed to drive me down
for that. Chris has an art show in Saratoga. It's always fun to see what everyone has grown. Hoping the timing is right to show some of mine. They're busting out all over this week.

If you see Joe, tell him his 410-U11 grabbed me!

I would think some stems might be too large for a wine bottle.. How do you stabilize the stems to get them straight? We shove pieces of stem in the tubes if they need a little "push" to one side or the other.

We had a few arrangements.

This was my favorite using our natives Iris fernaldii and Sisyrinchim.

I got such a laugh with these two pictures because of the painting on the wall behind the lovely displays. The people look really quite excited to see those displays! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Sherry - lovely pictures of the show! Thanks for posting all these beauties. I suppose I am grateful I can't grow PCI's because I could become obsessed with them.

Hurray! thank you for the exciting tour of the show, sherry. i've never been to an iris show. it looks like a lot of logistics, and work that goes on behind the scenes before the doors open to the public.

also, seems like much excitement and fun. i may have a chance to attend a live iris show this weekend. will have to see how much spare time we have. it will be a two hour drive just to attend, so?
