Don't be worried, folks. Lutz is in two counties - Pasco and Hillsborough. I'm on the Hillsborough side and the fire is up in Pasco. We've also got a wildfire over by Flatwoods Park where I go hiking sometimes. They closed I-75 due to smoke. Mom and I could see the smoke while we were flying in and then when Dad was driving us home along I-275. I should probably stay inside due to asthma, but I do want to do a caterpillar check.
So we made it home just fine yesterday and I've mostly been asleep. I've got some pictures from Keukenhof I want to add to the database so I'll be doing that. I tried on my phone but the connection was so slow. It was a miracle you guys got the one picture of me!
@jmorth I did take pictures of as many daffodils as I could and I saw that I took photos of some we don't have pictures for yet. So keep an eye out! I only had two hours at Keukenhof and I could have spent the rest of my life there!
No butterflies were seen because it was so cold the entire trip. Mom froze.
She's always cold but even I liked the heated floors in the bathroom at the Hotel Des Indes in The Hague. Towel warmer, too! I did see some bees in Kinderdijk, but that was about it for insects.
Funny story - I left all my moth pupa for Dad to watch in case they emerged. I come home yesterday evening and there's a moth in there waiting for me! And my brother is all, "We just checked that earlier!" Dad swears they wait for me.
I'm not sure which one it was because I put them all in one container so Dad wouldn't have to watch more than one. And it flew off pretty darn quick!
