Sally, I live in Fairfax County, within the Beltway. I have a JFK rose, so far I have never sprayed it, never fed it, seldom have I even give it water. It gets its drink from the rain. But it keeps blooming and blooming. Only thing I have done is get rid of all the bindweeds climbing over it. My nose does not detect any fragrance in it, but I am really grateful to this plant, it kept giving me blooms, even though I have neglected it. Only thing I have done is pruning it every Spring and gave it leaf mulch. This year I am going to give it food.---I am trying to be good and show my appreciation.

I wouldn't say my Zepherine Drouhin x 4 are completely care free but they are close. I just have to spray the aphids every Spring and then keep training them up the trellises while not letting them get out of control... fast growers, those fellas.
