I was given this plant by a friend and she has suddenly passed away. I and am trying to find out it's name.
Thanks to this page https://garden.org/regional/re...
I discovered that it was a Salvia, could someone tell what variety it is?
Thanks!

Looks like Stachytarpheta indica ... not Salvia but a species of plant in the Verbenaceae family, native to the tropical Americas

Or Stachytarpheta jamaicensis

Can you narrow this down a bit? I looked at your link and it has one photo of some kind of Salvia, then mentions lawn grasses - St Augustine 'Seville' and St Augustine "Palmetto'; Salvia splendens 'Purple Fountain'. S. 'Red Vista' and S.'Red Hot Sally';
Lantana 'Goldmound' and L. 'Blue Daze'
The link also mentions Peperomia, Liriope

If you would please take some photos of the plant you have it would sure be helpful.

Not a Salvia.

I agree that the pic looks like a Stachytarpheta (also known as Porterweed), but not sure which variety it is.
