Not sure what this is, but it has a main "trunk" that resembles a palm tree as well as the palm-like but narrow leaves. My wife said to give it the heave-ho since it's not doing to well and doesn't fit with our theme of mostly native plants, and she wants to get rid of the container as well. Plus I've never cared for palm trees (or plants that resemble them) in the NW, they look out of place to me.

I'm guessing that it's sickly look is probably due to having outgrown the small container. I hate to "put down" any plant if I can find a good home for it where it will be cared for and enjoyed. If no immediate takers, I may just put it in a bigger pot and see what happens, but still would want to give it away.

Try putting it at the end of your driveway with a free sign. That works wonders for us. Someone just recently took a beat up old bicycle and another person took a non-functioning riding lawnmower. Perhaps they wanted the parts, or will recycle the metal. Who knows. Just glad to not have to make a dump or recycle run ourselves.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Put it in a nice bigger pot. Trim at least the lower 3/4 of leaves off.
Y'all may be surprised. 😮!!! Thumbs up 😎😎😎

I did, and gave it a haircut like you recommended. So I guess we can mark the plant as "taken".
