Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out as I am researching the garden nursery industry and trying to understand what leads to happy and loyal customers. I'm using Calloway's Nursery in Dallas/Houston as an example as it is one of the few nursery businesses with a large number of locations (19) and thus a larger customer base to talk with.

If you've been to one before, I'd greatly appreciate your opinion. I've also made a 1 minute long 10 question survey. It would be immensely helpful if you could provide answers (100% anonymous).

Overall I'm just trying to figure out what do you like/dislike about Calloway's? How does it compare to Home Depot/Lowes/other smaller nursery groups? Do you prefer one to the other? If so, why?

I really appreciate any and all help you can provide. I hope you're all having a great day!

Best regards,

Been to the one in Mesquite several times and I liked doing business there. Layout was/is good, staff friendly without being overly aggressive, and the selection was always interesting.
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

Favorite Calloway's is in Lewisville, but I go to several different ones in the area. Good roses and daylilies and ceramic pots. Stock is always beautiful and at its peak. Can never walk away empty handed. The color placement of plants in Lewisville makes me want them all and I take home too many. Everything is properly labeled and it is exactly what the label says it is. Did check Calloway's and they did not have the roses I wanted. I did find them in bloom at Lowe's which was a good thing because they had some roses correctly labeled and by some blooms some were incorrectly labeled. Daylilies/ iris are mislabeled at Lowe's and crape myrtle. A cheaper price at Lowe's works if it is what you want. It doesn't help to pay less if when it blooms it is the wrong color or plant. I like Lowe's prices overall, but I do feel I get what I pay for at Calloway's.
