About a couple years ago I found this seed on the kitchen floor, my dog must have brought it in. It looks so strange so I kept it hoping that maybe if I find out what it is I could plant it. But of course I'd need to know what kind of plant it is so I know what it needs, or if its worth planting. I put my index finger next to it for a size reference, I live in Illinois. It may even be too old to germinate now but Im just curious.

I want to thank @Kamomile for posting this question and photo. I had never before known what the seeds looked like for the Rose of Sharon. I like learning new things!
