Thread OP

I bought this from the Home Depot listed as "Foliage", with no information about the specific species. I keep trying to identify using online search tools and databases, but nothing comes up! Any help would be much appreciated.

My best guesses from the searching I've done is some sort of Ficus, and maybe a type of magnolia, but the leaf arrangements don't match for either

Here are some pictures:

That seems right. Look at these links for comparison.

West African Rubbertree (Ficus lutea)

Once you are sure of the ID, please add your pictures to the plant database.

I would disagree... The leaves seem too dark and the tips too rounded and the veins too pronounced...

There are over 800 species of Ficus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

I was going to suggest contacting DelRay growers, who supply a lot of HD's foliage plants, but they have been purchased by Costa Farms so that probably won't work.

I suppose it would be enough to simply know that it's likely to be a ficus of *some* sort, as I'm trying to figure out how to care for it. Ficus seems like the best bet

You may not ever know what species/variety you have, but the appearance, leaf and overall structure all lend themselves to the Ficus genus. One thing I do know is that all ficus have is white sap.

This pdf covers varieties commonly offered (18) and contains some good info on them.

It's kinda hard to tell, but those are actually compound leaves. This is Schefflera Amate, I think (or at least some larger leaved schefflera variety).

Thanks guys! It's most likely a Schefflera, and I think Amate is the closest I've seen.
