I bought a new house and this plant is growing in my yard by a hosta. It came up in late April, the house is in a development that used to be woodland/forested area and the yard is shady. The stems are fuzzy but it looks like a baneberry so I am stumped and don't know baneberries well enough to know if they can grow that way.

It looks like its about to bloom. Post more photos then.

I know it isn't a tomato, I am familiar with the common Iowa plants but this is a new one to me.

Iowa - just make sure it has an anise-like smell as a double check. Smiling
