Confused Crying Hi All, So my fuchsia came home looking good.... I planted it in a hanging basket and placed it in mostly shade, with plenty of water. It has been going downhill on a daily basis and I'm not sure how to save it. I've brought it inside (we've had 35-50). Could it be because of not having good drainage? I only have a small whole in the bottom of the basket???
Thanks...

I think you hit it. Plenty of water and poor drainage. Let top 1 to 2 inches dry out some. I'm gonna guess if you put finger in drain hole the soil is sopping wet. More drain holes, definitely. Check for drainage. Water should come out of drain holes in about a minute or so after watering.

Welcome!

When you say plenty of water, Lannie, how much water is that? Do you water, as Philip says, until water comes out of the drainage hole? Did you water every day? I'm trying to verify if it is too much water or not enough, the symptoms are similar. Plants in hanging baskets typically need watering often and we also can't see the size of the pot it is in.

It was mostly in shade, but was the site windy at all? I assume the 35-50 was night temperatures, what was it during the day?

Sorry for all the questions but it helps to figure out what the problem is.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will poke some more drain holes and see how that works. Our weather had been so wacky that I've been keeping it inside. I think it should be ok to hang outside tomorrow.
Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers!
Thanks again
