There seems to be a number of very lovely worthwhile pictures that are a nice addition to NGA that aren't Landscape or Multi-plant photos but are being added there. I'm certain the additions are well intended and hesitate to mention this. They would be better added to the data base. Am I being to picky? Maybe Shrug! No....probably Shrug! .

I have a feeling these posters probably thought they were adding them to the database. I've seen a lot of confusion recently.

Often, the single plant 'landscape' photos are not labeled either, so really they will only be seen by chance. I suppose the most polite approach would be to send either a private tree-mail or begin a discussion under the landscape photo suggesting that the photo be submitted into the general database - particularly if the cultivar is known. It would get much more traffic that way. I look at many of these often quite beautiful 'landscape' photos as just a flash in the pan - I'm lucky to see them but without labeling, I'll likely never run across them again. Sadly.

I fear that what is meant as a helpful suggestion is viewed as criticism. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

I try to go through them every few days (it depends on how busy with gardening I am at the time nodding ) and contact any that have added single plant shots. If I don't get a reply after a few days, if I know what the plant is, I move it to the generic database entry.

I do see that (thanks), and I also started a discussion on one, but have not heard anything back. As Paul notes, I hope my suggestion is not taken as a criticism - the photo is quite lovely but is of one plant only and would have much better exposure in the main database.

I added my comment to that one, we'll give it a few more days.
