Sorry I don't know if there's is a specific spot for plant ID.
This is in my yard and not sure if it's just dead and dry or if it's meant to be like this.

Look way down inside and see if there's new growth. Being in New England, it may be just emerging from dormancy.

I see your rhododendron is getting ready to pop, too. Thumbs up

If you any others you'd like IDed, post away!

And... Welcome!

There is a special spot, but posting here is fine too. If you have any others you want identified, here is the Plant ID Forum:

It's an ornamental grass, to me it looks like a Miscanthus. You can cut the dead stuff off but stop just above the top of the new growth or you'll cut that off too. They are late to start growing in spring.

Edited to add that this is a normal pattern for ornamental grasses, they die back in winter and regrow from the base in spring. The green plant in the middle of it is a milkweed BTW.

Thanks, Sue. I was just getting ready to give that link. Thumbs up

Also, that might be milkweed growing up the middle of the grass.

I cut it down.. there is very little new growth but I cleaned it all out and added some fresh soil and watered it. I'll let you all know if it comes back.
I did post a new picture in the plant id forum .. not sure if it's a weed or something else.
