We recently moved and the last owner told us the following about this tree (the almost leafless one in front of the house)... it is deciduous, it doesn't produce leaves until long after all the neighboring trees have, and it will be covered with beautiful pink blossoms in the late spring/early summer. We live in Oregon, and the tree just started getting leaves in the past week. We haven't seen any blossoms. I know very little about trees, but I do think the tree is sick as there is a split in the trunk and it seems like maybe 1/4 of the branches are dead as they still don't have any leaves on them. I would guess the tree is about 60 feet tall and maybe 40 feet wide.

Can anyone help me ID this tree?
Thanks!
