This iris that I ordered was supposed to be 'Argus Pheasant', then I was told it was 'Amethyst Flame', well it turned out not to be that either ....so I'm looking for some help to see if anyone knows what this could be ....

A little more information would be helpful; where did you get it? How old is it? How tall? Is it scented?

My first guess would be

but there are a lot of similar irises in the database.

Is that Vishnu in the background? Whatever it is it sure is nice! Wish I could help with the ID but I am terrible with blue iris.

I don't recognise the noid, either....and I thought, like you, Leslie, that it was a Sturtevant iris in the back ground, but I "lean" more towards "Sindjkha"

Patrick, the blue one looks a lot like Cascadian Skies to me, the pics I have in the data base look more violet then they should, but you can check them. Does it have the haft marks deep on the falls?

Les is correct - The iris next to the NOID is infact 'Vishnu' which I received from Superstition Iris Garden.

The NOID remains a mystery, but with your suggestions I will continue my
research. Thanks to all of you who responded.

I looked at 'Cascadian Skies' and it appears to me to be to modern and to ruffly.
I think my NOID is an Older Historic iris. I decided to keep it because it really is
lovely and a large flower too. Thank You!

Thanks, I see that Vishnu is listed in their catalog, now if they still have it in stock. Crossing Fingers!

'Vishnu' is an Iris that is really beautiful. Photo's do not do this iris justice.
I highly recommend you try and get this from Superstition Iris, you will not
be disappointed. Thumbs up

I got mine from Superstition Tom. They sent a big healthy rhizome and it bloomed right away this year. (I have pictures to tempt you with if I ever get time to post!).
