Hi, Philip,
Flowers I do have, but seems like I'm waiting for fruit a long time. Still, hopeful that cooler weather this week might be the right time for some fruit. Big Grin

Hi Sally 😁
I'm not sure about heat thing. Mine started blooming last week, during our 10 day, triple digit heat wave.
There related to tomatoes. I belive, when they start to flower or set fruit, that they do better if you let them go somewhat dryer, between waterings. Like with tomatoes.
Let me know. When they start to set. Thumbs up

Now we have loads of big puffy husks forming. They are huge! bigger than any last year. Does that bode well for big fruit? Crossing Fingers!

So...what is the difference between a kettle chip and a potato chip? Please enlighten me... Crunchier? Thicker? Better taste?
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Kettle chips are slightly thicker and they are crunchier. Not thick as ruffled chips, seem in between. Try em sometime. My lunch today in fact, about equal amounts kettle chips and cucumber slices. Really, I love all potatoe chips.
I will update on these tomatillos when I find out how big they end up. We got 1.75 inches rain tonight, they should be rarin to go.

Kettle chips and cucumber slices , I guess they are 'premature' pickles.
I'm still gently feeling the tomatillo husks and waiting for signs of actual fruit

Sally,
Keep on feeling your tomatillos. Smiling

I grew two varieties of tomatillos this past season, both for the first time. The smaller tomatillos were very prolific, and tended to fill the husks to the split point. I didn't get one large tomato that completely filled its large husk.

At some point, the stinkbugs got so bad I started picking the large variety tomatillos when they were the size of the smaller variety, but before the stinkbugs could stick them. Sad Then, I washed and vacuum sealed them for the freezer. I hear they store well. Rolling my eyes.

There's salsa verde in my winter future, LOL! Hurray!

Hurray! Sally ! Hurray!
I'm still waiting for mine. There the purple kind. They came up voluntary, from last year. I'll see if they do better being voluntary.
They didn't grow as large as green ones. Then, not to long after i started getting some. 😭 Some dirty bug got to them. Inside of fruit was filled with what looked like tiny black worm poop.
You got any idea of what, and how to stop it ???
