Hi all. I am brand new to community so if I accidentally post in wrong place I apologize in advance. Just as I am new to community, I am new to gardening too. I have a wonderful elevated veggie garden that is doing very well so far. I also planted potatoes in tub containers. They are doing great. However, I am wondering if it is time to add more dirt yet. There are several plants that are tall enough to put more dirt in, but there are still some new ones sprouting. Should I wait? Or is it okay to put dirt over the new sprouts? And by dirt, I mean my potting mix.

Really depends on how soon your taters are from maturity. Irish Potatoes grow above where seed was planted. Unlike sweet potatoes that produce taters below seed.
