This large 6"x18" velvet leafed plant appeared in my garden (zone 7) last summer. The winter, with some snow, did not kill it and now the plant is at least twice as big, getting taller every day. It is 3' across and 2' tall so far. I have not seen any flowers.
Can you identify it?

Welcome!

Mullein. The thing coming out of the center is the flower stalk.
